Behind the scenes…
Whose pictures are these?
Each image was taken in my kitchen or outside {my favorite place for eating} while I was having fun experimenting with cooking. Definitely not an example of every meal I eat, just some noteworthy samples.
How did I learn to cook?
Practice, practice, fail, practice.
I started as a kid and never left the kitchen. I’ve had incredible opportunities to work in nutrient centric and sourcing conscious kitchens that taught me way more then I could have learned on my own.
Where are the dishes from?
I am a bargain shopper, most of the dishes are Ikea and Target clearance items. Gotta save money for groceries!
How long does it take to convert to a clean cupboard?
It all begins with foods you love. The more you embrace that is delicious all by itself the fewer things that clutter your kitchen. Take it one day at a time and don’t give up until you find dishes you enjoy that serve your whole body and lifestyle needs. It’s not about a diet or a fashion statement, it’s about listening to your body and hearing it’s plea to eat in a way that’s healthy for your anatomy, your economy and your spirituality.
Where do I source organic groceries affordably?
I love natural grocers, if you are just starting out and don’t want to ask a million questions or decode the hieroglyphs on labels, I would recommend starting there, most things are clean and sourced locally.
What about ready to eat tasty treats?
The longer I’ve been eating cleaner foods and intentionally sourced ingredients the more the market has responded with incredible snacks and prepackaged foods. If you are just starting out, take time to peruse the snack bar and fruit leathers section, even bottled smoothies can be a smooth on ramp in the beginning.
